Prayash

An Extension cum Social Outreach Programme

“PRAYASH” is an attempt to do something or an intention for doing something. The project called “PRAYASH” is initiated at Kabi Jagadram Roy Government General Degree College (Affiliated to Bankura University) under Mejia Block, Bankura District on 20.03.2024. The financial aspects of this project are fully based on voluntary basis from the end of teaching faculties of this college. Students from neighbouring schools come here to take some lessons beyond their syllabus from the professors, such as recitation, pronunciation, music, visiting garden, simple mathematical games, drawing, visiting science laboratories, different stories etc. The main aim for this project is to draw attention and grow interest towards higher study among the local people.

At primary and secondary school levels the children are forced to keep themselves engaged and involved deeply to perform well in their final examination. Students come here in college and feel free to ask any type of questions in their mind and get answers from faculties about their goals and opportunities.

Through a small assembly, the project “PRAYASH” was inaugurated by the Officer-in-Charge of this College, Shri Alok Kumar Das in presence of Dr. Ashesh Kumar Maji (Coordinator, Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Head, Department of Geology), Mr. Mansaram Kundu (Head Teacher, Shyamapur Primary School) and other respected professors of the college. The Officer-in-Charge of this college announced that the students of the schools would come to the college once in every month or every two months with permission from the Bankura Primary School Council and they will learn many practical lessons. The main aim of the project “PRAYASH” is mainly to shine the light of education to the underprivileged school students of the area.
