◈ About the Department

The department of Physics has started functioning from the beginning of the college with the introduction of General Course in Physics in 2015 under the University of Burdwan. In 2017, the affiliation was shifted to Bankura University and the department has since been teaching Physics Generic Course based on the CBCS system in accordance with the syllabi of the Bankura University. NEP System has been introduced in the undergraduate level since 2023 offering Major & Minor Course in Physics. The Department offers students to study physics with a great infrastructure. At present, four faculties try to the serve the students. We have well-equipped laboratories with sufficient experiment facilities. The department also has a large number of books in the seminar library that provides a balanced weightage of text and reference books. Our students do well in the university examinations every year since the beginning of the department. Besides academic & administrative work, the faculty members of the department are also engaged in research work. With the cooperation from everyone, we try to make the department bigger and better in upcoming academic year.
