The Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC) and Minority Cell of Kabi Jagadram Roy Government General Degree College was started in 2019 to promote the special interests of students in the reserved category. For affirmative action, the college is committed to effectively implementing the Reservation Policy as stipulated by the government. The SC, ST, OBC and Minority Cell of Kabi Jagadram Roy Government General Degree College ensures equitable and accessible space of learning to its category and minority students. The Cell makes all efforts to empower these students. The cell runs orientation programme and provides information on various scholarships provided by the Ministry of Human Resource Development and Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment for the category students. The cell provides special inputs in areas where the students experience difficulties.
The UGC had recommended that the Universities/Colleges/Institutes must have a committee and a separate cell to deal with backward class students like SC/ST to assist and support Higher Educational Institute to meet certain requirements which will be made mandatory in order to give effect to a policy. The SC, ST, OBC and Minority Cell of Kabi Jagadram Roy Government General Degree College works accordingly.
