Dr. Kalyan Mukherjee, Department of Bengali, KJRGGDC has been involved as PhD supervisor since 2022. Currently Dr. Mukherjee is guiding two PhD scholars registered under Bankura University. Subjects of their research are ‘History and Journey of Visva Bharati, Shantiniketan” and “Existential Exigencies of people on 20th Century “. Dr. Mukherjee believes that friendly relationship with scholars and his devout cooperation can get the work done by his scholar in timely manner. His overall area of interests is Rabindra Nath Tagore, Baul and Lalan Fakir.
Dr. Nivedita Chakraborty, Department of Geology, KJRGGDC is engaged in research assistance since 2022 in collaboration with Dr. Anudeb Mondal, Department of Geology, Presidency University. They along with their scholar Ms. Lovely Burman, have visited different remote places of Bankura and Purulia districts for geological field works on Permo-Triassic (Gondwana) rocks in Raniganj Basin. Goal of the present research is ‘Decoding paleoenvironmental and paleoclimatic shifts across the continental P-T boundary in Raniganj Basin (Damodar valley)’. Mrs. Burman has enrolled for PhD in Presidency University in March, 2024. Dr. Chakraborty has overall research interest in Sedimentology, Sequence stratigraphy and Sediment geochemistry.
